Mission Statement

Oakhurst Elementary is a community of caring mentors who are committed to motivating students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens by promoting “The Mustang Way” -Respect, Responsibility and Honesty.

Oakhurst Highlights

Oakhurst Elementary School serves students in Pre Kindergarten through 5th grade. Along with our core curriculum Oakhurst offers art, P.E. music, instrumental band and chorus. Staffed with experienced professionals, Oakhurst focuses on strong academics with an emphasis on highest student achievement in a safe learning environment. We are excited to be continuing with our two school wide initiatives. Our first initiative is the Reading Units of Study affiliated with Teachers College at Columbia University. This is our fifth year that we are involved with this very important work. Our second initiative is that we are a Character Education Partnership School. We are one of six elementary schools in the district participating in the grant. Through this initiative we have developed our core values of Respect, Responsibility and Honesty. We refer to this as “The Mustang Way.” With high parental and community involvement, the staff is committed to preparing each student to be life long learners.
